Artists Competition
The Vernell Gregg Young Artists Competition has two Divisions. The Junior Division is for Grades 6 through 8 and the Senior Division is for Grades 9 through 12.
One Grand Prize Winner, who can come from either Division, wins $1,000 prize money and the opportunity to perform with the all-professional Lewisville Lake Symphony at its April concert. It is open to piano, strings and winds.
Lewisville Lake Symphony
International Competition
The Lewisville Lake Symphony International Competition rotates in a two-year cycle between Piano and Voice. The Piano Competition occurs on even-numbered years and the and Voice Competition on odd-numbered years.
The Piano competition is open to musicians 18–30 years of age, enrolled in a college or university music program, who are planning a professional career in music. First Prize is $2,000 and an appearance as soloist with the Lewisville Lake Symphony on its September concert. Second Prize is $1,000.
The Voice competition is open to singers 21-32 years of age who are planning a professional career in music. First Prize is $2,000 and Second Prize is $1,000 and both prizes include an invitation to perform with the Lewisville Lake Symphony on its September concert.
