  Claire Wells
cw10 years old, Claire began piano at age 2 years 10 months, and violin when she turned 3. Until her move from Oregon to Texas, her parents were her principal violin teachers, and her long time piano teacher was Christine Mirabella. After two years with Jan Sloman in Dallas, she is now continuing with her mom, Cheryl Luan Wells. Her piano teacher is Elena Tsvetkova. She has played master classes for Ani Kavafian, Ida Kavafian, Sergio Luca, Joseph Swensen, Wu Han, and John Perry.

 In 2010, Claire was the top prize winner on violin and piano at the Oregon Teachers Association Bach Festival, State level. Last year, she was the first prize winner on violin (sonata) and piano (concerto) at the Dallas Symphonic Festival. Also last year, Claire was a winner in Division I of the Hubbard Competition (Mendelssohn Violin Concerto). This year she was Grand Prize winner in the Collin County Concerto Competition, and now also in the Lewisville Symphony's Vernell Gregg Concerto Competition.

In her free time, Claire enjoys dogs, reading, cooking, celtic fiddle, and chamber music.

The firm of Kenneth Warren and Son (Chicago) has generously loaned Claire a Francesco Ruggeri violin, Cremona, 1670. Her bow is by Jean Marie Persoit.

 
  Ximei Li
xlXimei Li, age 16, attends Jasper High School in Plano, TX and is currently studying piano under Mr. Yifan Liu. Ximei has won prizes in a variety of piano competitions including the Texas Music Teacher’s Association in 2011, Juanita Miller Concerto Competition sponsored by the Texas Association of Symphony Orchestra in 2012, and the Dallas Symphonic Festival in 2011 where she was awarded the Grand Prize.

She has performed with the Meadows Symphony Orchestra of the Southern Methodist University in the Winners Concert of the Dallas Symphonic Festival.

In addition to piano, Ximei has played the oboe in the award-winning Jasper High School Band. She spends her time mainly devoted to the fine arts, also enrolled in art classes in school and participates yearly in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event held in the region. With strong passions in many areas, Ximei hopes to pursue a career path that channels her interests.

 
  Rhiana Caterisano
rcRhiana Caterisano, age fifteen, is currently a sophomore at Garland High School. She began to play the clarinet in sixth grade at age eleven. Last year as a freshman, Rhiana was selected as a member of the Texas 5A All-State band. Rhiana qualified for All State again this year as a Sophomore.

She has also received honors such as Outstanding Soloist at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble and was a winner of the Texas A&M Clarinet Colloquium solo competition in 2011. She is a member of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra Wind Symphony. Rhiana studies clarinet with Ms. Hsing-Fang Liu.

Rhiana is proud to be part of the Garland HS Mighty Owl Band as well as the Garland HS Orchestra. Rhiana ranks in the top few percentages of her class, holding a 4.7 GPA. She also enjoys playing piano, flute, saxophone and a variety of clarinets. Rhiana plans to pursue playing music as a profession.
