Working together

Our all-professional orchestra, volunteers, donors and audience are the critical arms of the large and growing Symphony family.

The volunteers form the Lewisville Lake Symphony Guild and there are a lot benefits in the team.

  • Contribute to the growing success of one of the most respected all-professional regional orchestras in Texas.

  • Put your skills to work in an organization where you can 'give back' and be exhilarated with the results.

  • Help perpetuate the glory of classical music and getting young people excited about its magic.

  • Make new friends by working with our interesting and talented volunteer team.

  • Enjoy special volunteer thank-you events.

More information on the Guild

Contact us by email, by phone or by asking any of our volunteers at one of the concerts for more information.   Our Volunteer Coordinator will work with you to fit your talents and available time with Symphony opportunities.

Vernell Gregg Artists Competition

$1,000 in prize money -- as well as an opportunity to solo with our all-professional orchestra

The Grand Prize Winner of the Lewisville Lake Symphony Young Artists' Competition is the guest artist at our February concert and wins $1,000 in cash.

The Competition has gained a wide reputation that attracts entries from across the U.S. and winners from several states.

The next one takes place on January 26, 2008.

The Competition involves a two-step process. In the first round, contestants are asked to submit a performance audiotape or CD. These are evaluated and a portion of the contestants were invited to participate in the second round where they perform live before a panel of distinguished judges. The judges, in addition to a Grand Prize Winner, choose place winners in junior and senior categories.

The judges may award three Grand Prizes if warranted by the level of talent.  If that happens, the $1,000 prize money will be split equally among the Grand Prize Winners.

The $1,000 Letitia Goodman Memorial Scholarship Award

is provided by Bill and Pat Leggett

Competition supported by Texas-New Mexico Power Company
