Can you help with Grants?

(Without investing any of your own money)

The Lewisville Lake Symphony wants to expand its arts and music services to communities in our part of Texas.

We especially want to get young people excited about great music. We already operate our annual Family Popcorn Concert for the kindergarten and elementary set, our Vernell Gregg Young Artists’ Competition, the Rush e-Tix discount tickets for students and their parents, and performance opportunities for the best student artists at UNT’s College of Music.

What we don’t have is a solid program for middle school students and we want to fill that gap.   Research shows that children need to be interested in music by middle school or they are likely lost.

There is a lot of Grant money available to arts organizations.  The problem is that there are many organizations competing very aggressively for a finite number of dollars.

You can help!

IBM
Big companies
Many companies with head or branch offices in our area offer grants to organizations recommended by employees.  J.C. Penney, IBM, Frito Lay, Boeing and General Electric to name a few.  The grants are usually handled by a foundation controlled by the corporation and thus relatively immune to the business environment of the moment.

Please check to see if your company has a grant program that includes arts or education within its mandate.  We would be honored to have you as our advocate within the company.  We are much more successful in obtaining grants when we have a determined insider.  IBM is an example. We will provide the support you need to make your appeal.

Local companies

mclThe Symphony is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit institution.  Corporate grants, like individual donations, are tax deductible.   A significant amount of our funding comes from local companies that want to see our community stand out with ‘one of the most respected regional orchestras in Texas.’ (That’s The Dallas Morning News description of the Symphony!)  Your company can watch its dollars working in our community.

You can make a difference in enhancing our music and arts future - in our part of Texas

Sponsorships and advertising

Grantors, quite reasonably, expect recognition for their generosity.  There are a lot of ways we can acknowledge people and organizations.  We can run your ad in our program   We can also show you or your organization as a sponsor or co-sponsor of a concert or even a whole Series depending on the size of the gift.  The coverage includes, advertising, programs, mailings, brochures, website etc.
