For further information contact Dr. Pamela Mia Paul at Eligibility The Competition - Preliminary Round The Competition - Final Round (March 8, 2014) Repertoire Prize Money Location Entry Fee Accompanists Contestants must provide their own accompanist or use one provided by the symphony for an additional $75. The accompanist charge must be paid upon the invitation to perform a live audition.
The 2014 competition is open to pianists at an accredited university, college, or conservatory that are between the ages of 18 - 30 on the March 8, 2014 audition date.
The preliminary round will be judged from high quality recorded videos posted on YouTube, Vimeo, or Tuduo by the applicants. A completed application form and $75 application fee are also required. The deadline for all submissions is 12:00 midnight January 15, 2014.
Contestants chosen for the Final Round will perform a live audition before a panel of distinguished judges. No more than 8 contestants will be invited to the Finals. Transportation and accommodations are the responsibility of the contestants and of the winners performing in Symphony Series and International Chamber Series concerts. First Prize money awarded to the Grand Prize Winner will be presented at the September concert. The Symphony and the College of Music will hold a reception in the Green Room, adjacent to the Voertman Hall after the event. Transportation and Accommodation Reception The auditions will be held at the Voertman Hall, 415 Avenue C, University of North Texas College of Music, Denton 76203. There is a non-refundable application fee of $75.
The Lewisville Lake Symphony
First Prize: $2,000 and includes a performance with the Lewisville Lake Symphony at the opening concert of the 2014/2015 season in September 2014. |
